International Business Machines (IBM) is a leading provider of enterprise-level hardware and software. IBM's offering includes mainframes, servers, operating system and development tools.
Consulting Reacts is collaborating with IBM in the deployment of an IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA appliance.
IBM WebSphere DataPower is a specialized appliance to process XML and we're using it as a foundation of our client's SOA infrastructure and for the enforcement of our applications' security policies.
The synergy between IBM WebSphere DataPower and IBM WebSphere Application Server has allowed us to rapidly build a secure and scalable platform to develop and deploy our client Java EE applications.
By integrating DataPower and WebSphere we've provided our client a Single Sign-On web environment where complex authentication and authorization policies are executed by DataPower and, as a result, a standard JAAS subject is built for the applications: we powered our solution with a proprietary technology respecting enterprise standards and avoiding vendor lock-in.
The DataPower SOA appliances' capabilities have permitted us to build a custom authentication policy for X.509 digital certificates where multiple user registry are involved during the authentication process. A notable authentication backend we implemented is Spain's Government Electronic ID (DNIe) service.
We're now using DataPower multi-protocol gateway for message routing and transformation: services which use SOAP, ReST, plain XML, JMS or even by using a custom data transformation can now be easily and seamlessly integrated.
